Central men's contract list

We got the men's central contract list for the new season, 2022-2023. This list was announced by Pakistan Cricket Board. For the first time, PCB introduced separate red and white-ball contracts, with four more players being added to Emerging Category. This means that the total number of players will be 33 -13 more than the previous season who received contracts for the upcoming 12 months. Pakistan's all-format captain Babar Azam, along with Hasan Ali, Imam-ul-Haq, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Mohammad Rizwan was awarded both red and white ball contracts. Of the 10 players who received a red-ball contract, Azhar Ali was promoted to Category A, Naseem Shah and Abdullah Shafique are in Category C while Saud Shakeel was awarded a Category D. Nauman Ali and Fawad Alam remain in Category C and B, while Sarafaz Ahmed, Shan Masood, Yasir Shah, and Abid Ali got Category D contracts. White-ball contracts were awarded to 11 limited-over specialists. Shabad Khan and Fakhar Zaman who were in Category B for the 2021-22 season now got awarded Category A contracts. Haris Rauf was promoted to Category B, while Mohammad Nawaz remained in Category C. Usman Qadir and Shahnawaz Dahani were promoted from Emerging to Category D and they were joined by the newcomers Haider Ali, Asif Ali, Mohamad Wasin Jnr, Zahid Mehmood, and Khushdil Shah. When speaking of the Emerging category, PCB increased the number of players from three to seven in the hope to encourage, develop and incentivise the upcoming domestic performance of players. In the Emerging Category are currently Kamran Ghulam, Ali Usman, Haseebullah, Mohammad Huraira, Mohammad Hairs, Salman Ali Agha, and Qasim Akram. The Chief Selector Muhammad Wasim congratulated all the players who received central contracts for the 2022-23 season, especially younger ones who received a red-ball contract for the first time.
